I'm a motorcycle junky. At last count, I've had somewhere around 65 motorcycles. Many/most have been projects of one sort or another, but they've (almost) all been fun. I'm pretty sure that I can find a way to have fun on anything with two wheels and a motor.
I've dabbled in a couple of different types of competition (enduro, road racing, observed trails), but mainly, I just ride to have a good time. The only thing I really stuck with was YSR racing, which I did for about 5 seasons. The better I got and the more I could win, the less fun it got. I had a much better time when I was excited about just finishing not last... ;-) I was very excited about racing enduros this year, but after just two events life got in the way and I haven't made it back out yet. Maybe next year... at least I got two more trophies before getting sidetracked! ;-)
Currently I have a Honda XR600R dual sport, a Kawasaki KDX220 dirt bike, a Honda XR100 for my wife, and a Yamaha PW50 mini-bike for my daughter.
Here are a couple of pics of the bikes:
My KDX experiencing hardware envy with Dean H.'s GasGas and Sean G.'s
KTM.
My old XR650L doing what it did most - holding the garage floor down.
I'll have to get around to taking pics of the other stuff sometime soon...
In 1998 I did a 1000 mile in 24 hour ride - you can read about it here.
A few years ago, I took a nice ~2000 mile road trip on my XR650L, but it was cut short due to 9/11/01 - you can read about
it here.
